Well, I fixed it with small tie straps, putting 4 of them around the cable and the assembly, and one vertically around all 4 of them to keep them from moving. Since that particular part doesn't get hot, it should work fine. I've rode it around and no problems so far...i'm just going to keep some extra tie straps in the tool kit from now on. I tried the jb weld, but it wouldn't stay....
